Keep large archives open and organised while watching what the server still holds — and move messages onto local or external storage when it fills up, attachment bytes fetched before anything is removed.
Prefixes, compound queries and clickable filters, plus plain questions: “Find phone number of Alice Chen” runs the ordinary search and reads the answer out of the mail it found. Locally, in English or Turkish, with no AI and nothing sent anywhere.
Turn a message into a flag, a reminder, a due date, a note or a meeting, and follow it in a view built for that — so the thing that matters this week is not buried under the thing that arrived this morning.
Compose, translate, summarise and refine in place, with translated text and saved results kept for later. Off by default, and nothing leaves the machine until you ask it to.

PST and OST files, .eml, .msg and maildir. The folder tree comes across as it stands and every message is indexed on the way in.

Each account keeps its own folder tree, sync settings and colour. All Mail merges the live folders with everything in the local archive, and the row tag tells you which mailbox a message came from. The status bar carries counts, sync progress and how much server capacity is left.
Who wrote to whom, about what, with a line of the message underneath, grouped by day: the same list read as prose instead of as a table, for when you are catching up rather than filing. Hover a row in the ordinary list instead and the connector column curves down to the message that row answers and out to the ones that answered it — a conversation showing its shape, with nothing opened and nothing moved.
Six flags map onto Important/Urgent quadrants, plus a Monitor flag you define yourself. Give anything a due date and a reminder, then read the whole set as a Gantt-style timeline instead — same messages, same flags, nothing moved.
Calendars for Exchange, Microsoft 365 and IMAP accounts (over CalDAV), with accept, tentative, decline and propose-new-time answered in place. A meeting can be created straight from a message, and an organiser's update sends only the fields that changed.
The editor uses the same font and colour handling as the message that goes out, so nothing is reflowed on send. Multiple signatures pick themselves by the language you are writing in, scheduled mail goes out even with the app closed, and anything over the attachment limit is offered as an ownCloud, OneDrive or iCloud link.

280,901 messages in a 31 GB archive, 1,208,950 attachments, four accounts. Apple M4 Max, 48 GB, macOS 26.7; median of seven runs with the page cache warm, which is the state a second search is in and not the first one after a boot. The result list is capped at 5,000 rows — that cap, not the index, is why a query matching 36,866 messages costs five times one matching 92 rather than four hundred times. Take your own numbers with scripts/search-bench.js.
