MailCode Support
Help, bug reports, and feature requests
The fastest way to report a bug is from inside the app: Help → Report a
Problem. That attaches recent technical details automatically, which usually
saves a round of questions.
When reporting a problem
Including these makes a fix far quicker:
- Your macOS version and MailCode version (MailCode → About MailCode)
- Account type — Exchange, Microsoft 365, or IMAP
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead
- Whether it happens every time or only sometimes
Please don't send passwords or full message contents. They are almost never needed, and
never necessary to diagnose a problem.
Common questions
- Which mail accounts does MailCode support?
-
Microsoft Exchange via EWS, Microsoft 365 with modern sign-in (OAuth), and any standard
IMAP/SMTP provider — Gmail, iCloud, Fastmail, Yandex and others.
- Where is my mail stored?
-
On your Mac, in a local archive that makes search and reading work offline. Nothing is
stored on any server operated by the developer. See the
Privacy Policy.
- Does Send Later work when MailCode is closed?
-
In the Mac App Store version, scheduled messages are delivered while MailCode is
running — including when it is hidden in the menu bar. If the app is fully quit at the
scheduled time, the message goes out at the next launch. The direct-download version
delivers via a background helper even when the app is closed.
- Is the AI assistant required?
-
No. It is off until you turn it on, and it only ever sends text when you explicitly
invoke an action. In the Mac App Store version it runs solely on a provider API key you
supply. The direct-download version additionally offers MailCode AI credits, which relay
requests through the developer's server — see the
Privacy Policy for what that records.
- Can I try it before connecting an account?
-
Yes. Launch MailCode without adding an account and it opens in Demo mode with a sample
inbox and no network access.
- How do I get my mail out?
-
Messages can be saved as standard
.eml files, which any mail client can
read. Your mail also remains on your own mail server throughout — MailCode never
removes it unless you ask it to.
Feature requests
Send them to the address above. Requests that describe the problem you're trying to solve,
rather than a specific solution, tend to produce better results.
