Print only part of an email

5 October 2026 · searched as print only part of an email

Printing a long thread to keep one paragraph wastes pages, and most mail apps print all of it. Select the part you want and MailCode prints that — with the sender, date and subject above it, so the page still says where it came from.

How to do it

  1. Select the passage in the reading pane.
  2. Press ⌘P (Ctrl+P on Windows), or click the printer in the toolbar.
  3. The preview opens on Selection. Whole message beside it switches to everything; a page range narrows it further.
  4. Click Print….

The selection is printed under the message’s header, with a line that says it is an extract — a printout never passes for the whole mail. With nothing selected, the preview offers the whole message.
