Get reminded to follow up on an email

5 October 2026 · searched as remind me to follow up on an email

You sent the proposal on Monday; if nothing has come back by Thursday, you want to know. MailCode can remind you on a day, or at an exact time, and keeps a list of every conversation where the last word was yours.

How to do it

  1. Open the mail and click Flag in the toolbar ▸ Follow.
  2. Point at the flag line under the header and click + due: Today, Tomorrow, +1 week or a date. On that morning MailCode reminds you, and every day after while it is still flagged.
  3. For an exact time, click 🔔 remind instead: In 1 hour, Tomorrow 9am, Next Monday or a time of your own, with a note of what to do.
  4. To see every thread waiting on someone else, open Summary in the activity bar and choose Waiting on them — conversations where you spoke last and nothing has come back.

The morning reminder comes at the time set beside Remind at in the Flags view — 09:00 unless you change it — and a badge beside New Message counts what is due. A 🔔 alert fires while MailCode is running. Flags stay on this computer; on a Gmail or IMAP account the message is starred on the server too.
